UPDATE

Called Tisha. Nevaeh is home. That got home around 3 in the morning. Doctors think it is a viral infection and gave her some antibiotics.

Tisha said she was doing better.

Thanks for all the prayers and energies!

Oh thank goodness!

I'm glad she is doing better!

Wait, if they think it's a *viral* infection, why did they give her *antibiotics*? That doesn't make sense...

I don't know, unless the virus caused a bacterial infection. Like, sometimes you can get the flu, which is viral, but then wind up with a bacterial infection because your immune system is weakened? Either that, or they are a) dumb doctors or b) so used to people demanding some kind of medication that they hand out antibiotics like tic tacs, thus creating superbugs like MRSA.

Who knows?

My doctor told me once that a virus like that can herald Pneumonia.

Still sending. *hug*

Good!
please keep us informed, ok?
and all the usual commentary "rest, water, etc"

That is good news! Still sending prayers that way.

Did they seriously name her Heaven backwards, or is that an Alias?

Damn, that would be a cool LARP name!

[identity profile] apocalypticbob.livejournal.com 2009-09-21 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
They did seriously name her that. My brother decided when he was a young teenager that if he ever had a daughter, he wanted to name her Nevaeh, so that's what they named her. Even more sickeningly sweet? Her middle name (like that of all the gils in both sides of the family, oddly enough) is Lee, so she's really heavenly! And, of course, she's got long blond hair and big blue eyes and an ornery streak a mile long.

My boys were named during my descent into the SCA, so I can relate.

Even with a virus, antibiotics can be prescribed to prevent a secondary bacterial infection. (There, do I sound enough like a technician?)

I hope she's OK. I tried commenting before work, but my internet connection went tits-up for some reason. Then I had a fender-bender on the way to work in the rain.

[identity profile] apocalypticbob.livejournal.com 2009-09-22 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, no! You okay? Hope all is well.

I slid into them because of the wet road and they stopped quickly and I had just come over a hill. Not a good recipe. I was amazed there was no damage. The person in front of me hit the person in front of them, but we didn't even have dings. The others in front of me insisted on not dealing with insurance. Maybe they didn't have any? I dunno...

I'd say that's very likely. Are you okay physically? Things like whiplash can occur, even at low speeds, and don't always show up until hours later, when the adreneline of the crash has worn off. Take care of yourself and if you think you need to, go get checked out.
