An update, of sorts

I am as caught up with LJ as I am likely to get after four days away, which is to mostly say not. If I missed something incredibly important and didn't comment on it, please assume I didn't see it and poke me.
Weekend was fabulous. I don't think words could ever do it justice, but I'll drop a few notes here, so that when I'm old(er) and gray(er), I'll remember why this weekend was so awesome.
* GStLRF is a fun play space. Been a while since I went to a faire that doesn't already have an established wench population, so we created quite the stir, which was admittedly delightful. (I've never claimed to not enjoy the attention I get when whoring. It is part and parcel of the gig, and I love it.) Most of the cast didn't seem to know quite what to do with us, though the stage acts certainly did, and there was a delicious French nobleman in blue I would have gleefully carried off for an evening of personal play time. YUM! The way he whipped around like his head was on fire when I casually tossed out the term "S&M" was almost enough to make me drop character. Too amusing! I'd love to see the OKRF ED go up there and run their cast through an Academy...would be enough to really polish them up to amazing.
* It's a shame that it a) is so far away and b) overlaps with OKRF so much, because much like Scarby, the opportunity to go and play will likely always be few and far between, barring drastic changes to my circumstances. Pity.
* Bad Whores. If you don't know, you likely will eventually, but words won't do it justice here. There may eventually be video.
berkie or
bountifulpots, will you e-mail me this so I can make sure I can do it right next time we perform?
* Finally meeting
morgaath,
kyraanne and
fatesarchitect in person. All made of awesome! Glad to help celebrate
fatesarchitect's birthday with her, even if I was a total ditz and took forever to realize who I was talking to! Thanks again to
kyraanne for the loan of the skirt! Worked perfectly with my bodice!
* Paid $0.50 to go through a sideshow type exhibit, and then got so caught up talking and interacting with the guy running it that I almost didn't make it back out to the rest of my whores. Oops!
* New bodice being a smashing success. Need to hem the new skirt I made to go with it, and it will eventually become the anchor piece of my steampunk garb, I think.
* Getting ready to go to the theatre so incredibly early that I simply couldn't stand it a moment longer and hauling us out to the FOX way early. Grateful there was a nice little park across the way to wait in.
* The FOX theatre in St. Louis is incredibly beautiful. Just stunning. The ladies bathroom is bigger than my house! I can't imagine a prettier place to enjoy my first showing of RENT.
* RENT WAS AWESOME!! This is the place words completely break down and fail me. I was so emotionally moved I cried through the majority of the performance. Anthony and Adam were sheer perfection, and the cast that was assembled around them for this tour totally did them justice, and that's saying a lot. Just amazing.
* Never wearing heels to the theatre again. OUCH! Waiting outside the stage door was torture at this point. Lesson learned. Still worth it to get Anthony Rapp's autograph and watch
berkie lose all sense of composure or sanity. So amusing!
* More faire was wonderful. Decided if I ever build a renaissance festival, it will be on completely flat land. *nods* Was hard to leave. Will definitely try to make it out again...maybe next year? We'll see. Hopefully some of the cast might make it to Whitehart to visit? That would be awesome!
* Long drive home. I don't fit in backseats of cars as well as I used to. Blargh. Leg cramps and an amazing lightning show.
* Super Bunny's is very cool, and slightly scary at the same time. First beauty supply place I've ever been in with a security guard stationed at the door. I have hair! YAY!
* Came home to a postcard from a friend that was a lovely topper to the weekend. Huzzah for mail!

Date: 2009-06-11 03:15 pm (UTC)Where the hell was I? HOLY CRAP. One of the weekends of faire I was looking forward to, and I missed her.
*Burning "EPIC FAIL" into my forehead with some white-hot object*
Gonna be pissed off the rest of the month now.
