It's from the reunion the original cast did. Much of it is posted on Youtube by the same person who posted this one, though I think it is a bootleg video, and not one that was officially released on DVD or anything, unfortunately. I just love how Jesse says, "Oh, SHIT! I forgot how fast you were!" I crack up every time I watch it and had to show it to Nikki while we were watching the Live RENT DVD.
I watched it with softpaw last week. I am completely in love with the guy who did Roger. Can't say I was thrilled with Mimi, though. Her voice was too...big? She lacked the vulnerability of the other Mimis I have seen over the years.
I've heard that complaint from a lot of folks whose exposure wasn't intially to the first cast. Most of the people I know who grew up with the original cast acknowledge that her voice is big, but aren't troubled by it. It's interesting, to me. I rather like that she's got such a big voice. It works better on the character for me. =)
Of the original cast, the lady that played Mimi is the only one I really can't stand. So far, my favorite person for that role is still Rosario Dawson.
Ooohh...I can remember waiting impatiently for "RENT" to premiere, and just listening to it and listening to it and listening to it...even with it's gaping flaws, it's still one of my top 5 shows. *spends the rest of the night on YouTube*
