Bob, did you really drive four hours just to attend a party for a few hours, collapse at 3 in the morning, wake up four hours later, and prepare to drive the four hours back?

Yes, yes I did.

Was it worth it?

Abso-fucking-lutely!

Are you still a little bit drunk?

*shifty eyes* Maybe.

So to recap, Drunken RockBand? Still fun. Not a fluke. I'm getting way better at the bass, though I still suck at drumming. Even took lead guitar on a couple of songs and didn't die. YAY! I think there should probably be the skillful application of coffee before I drive home. Thankfully, I have a Berkie to skillfully apply my coffee for me. W00T!!!

To everyone I kissed/ gave scarves to last night, I love you all. (Yes, in my head those two things go perfectly fine together. Don't judge me! *laughs*)

Oh, and I am the proud owner of a new pewter pin that reads "No Day But Today". This pleases me to no end.

And now I blink and blink and wait for coffee.

Safely home from KC.

So tired.

Worth every minute.

Lots of thinky-thoughts in 10 hours of driving...I'm sure there will be posting, but first, we collapse.

Thankful

Several people have been posting what they are thankful for today, as tomorrow is the day we have set aside for giving thanks in this country. One day isn't nearly enough to ennumerate all the things I'm thankful for, but I'm going to list a few that are near the top of my heart today:

1) I am thankful for my family. They may be disfunctional (and, really, is there such a thing as a non-disfunctional family?) but they are mine and they love me. I am thankful for my beautiful, intelligent, healthy son who keeps my mind sharp by asking me off the wall questions and not accepting blow off answers. I am thankful for my mother, who works so hard to provide good things for her family. We may have our difficulties, but she is one of my best friends and I am blessed to have her. I am thankful for my brother, who drives me absolutely crazy at times and who I still love, and am thankful for his beautiful, tender hearted fiance. I am thankful for my amazing niece who keeps me on my toes. I'm thankful that I have the chance to spend time with her and be a part of her life. I am thankful for my father, even though he and I aren't close. He is part of what made me who I am. I am thankful for Devon's father, who gave me my son and I am thankful that he is ready to be active in his son's life. I am thankful for his wife, who is encouraging that relationship and treats my son with kindness.

2) I am thankful for my friends, both on LJ and in real life, and thankful that throughout this year I've been able to meet more friends from LJ and make them friends in real life. I am thankful for friends who have rejoiced with me in times of happiness and held me to their hearts in times of sadness. I'm thankful for the hugs, the lunches, the brief conversations, the long rambling conversations, the comments, the e-mails, the hundred little ways in which friends support each other. I'm thankful that I have friends worth driving hundreds of miles to see, even if I don't get to do it often, and I'm thankful that I have friends who love me enough that they will drive to Oklahoma to spend time with me.

3) I'm thankful for kisses, hands in my hair, and moments that leave me breathless. I'm thankful for love, in all of its forms. I'm thankful that I get to see love blossom and grow in the lives of my friends. I'm thankful that I get to see love endure in the lives of my friends.

4) I'm thankful for my job, where I have the opportunity to touch the lives of teenagers in very real ways and sometimes in ways I never expected. I'm thankful for the students who come back to me and remember me. I'm thankful for the ones who share their triumphs and their disappointments.

5) I'm thankful for my car, which is running well and gets me everywhere I need and want to go. I'm thankful for the good gas milage it gets, and the fact that gas prices have dropped.

I am a blessed, blessed, blessed woman. I do not take these things for granted, as there have been times I have been without all of them, and my life is so much richer for their existance and presence in my life.

Thank you, God, for the gifts you have bestowed upon me. I cherish them and honor you.

I love you all.
