No NoWriMo
Nov. 1st, 2008 09:10 pmThis may come as a shock to you, considering how much I blather on here, but I have no desire to write a novel. I enjoy reading novels, and I like writing short stories and essays and random letters, but I have never found a story I've wanted to tell enough to commit 50,000 words to it. Maybe I have commitment issues? I don't know.
I can't even commit to a post every day this month, as I will be traveling about the state participating in renaissance faires, Shindigs, parties, orientations, etc.
I wish you all the absolute best in plugging away at your novels this month...it's an admirable goal, no matter what your end result. Know that I support you, and that if your subject is something that remotely interests me, I'd enjoy reading whatever you crank out, but that I won't blow smoke up anyone's ass, so don't ask me to critique anything if you don't want my honest opinion. Also, I won't read things that don't interest me. Life is too short to read books that bore you, at least in your leisure time. So while I'm certain your graphic war novel or alien filled sci-fi saga will have an audience, I'm not it. Doesn't mean I'm less proud of you. Doesn't mean you aren't a good writer. Just means I'm not your target demographic.
