Harry Potter Monday night was awesome. Without being spoilery, I can say that it was well shot and I both laughed a lot and cried a little. Smog enjoyed it immensely as well.
Some things I'd like to remember about the last weekend of Whitehart, in random order:
* Coupons! I was presented with coupons that were hand made for me, since I kept saying "No discounts!" and "Coin First!" Cracked me up!
* Presenting His Majesty with Big Blue Balls. 'Cause turn about is definitely fair play.
* Receiving from His Majesty a lovely pair of earrings. Completely unexpected, and I managed not to cry, so YAY!
* Presenting my Bills. I hand calligraphed bills to present to
matt_the_britt and
ravenspirit70 for the use of my wenches, and accepted payment respectively of the "shirt off my back" and "the seam of my jeans", and even managed to collect on one of them! Too much fun!
*Cinnamon cheesecake. DAMN! So freaking good!
* Margaritas! Likely my most brilliant idea ever. Just saying. We went and had fabulous mexican food and margaritas on Saturday night, and the meal was filled with laughter, and I wouldn't trade that for anything.
* Working with an amazing cast and making new friends.
Sadly, there were a few downpoints of the weekend as well:
* One of my wenches was not feeling well all weekend. She still performed to the best of her ability, but I was sad for her that she was not able to enjoy herself as usual.
* My car battery died at the end of the day Sunday. Thankfully, with the aid of several people we were able to get it jumped, and it hasn't given me a bit of trouble since, but it made the drive home later than usual, and that was frustrating.
* There is a bit of unresolved business that is putting a damper on the whole experience. I am hopeful that it will be resolved to the satisfaction of all involved in a timely manner. That's really all I'm going to say about that, for now.
I have no idea if we will be invited back to Whitehart again, or if the conditions under which we could return would be able to be met, so for now, I'm not assuming anything. I will say that I enjoyed working with a young but talented cast, enjoyed seeing some fun shows, enjoyed playing with the patrons that were willing to play, and am glad to be taking a wee break from faire. I'll keep you posted on where I am performing next.
