Eh, everyone has the right to lust over whomever they choose, as far as I'm concerned. It's the actions that matter, in the long run, and the odds of a partner of mine getting the opportunity to screw the object of their lust is likely slim. Fantasies are fantasies. I'd likely be bemused, or perhaps even jokingly scornful if it was someone truly repulsive, but certainly not jealous.

I've found in marriage that fantasy is fine. It is only threatening to either of us if it has the possibility of becoming reality.

Saying you would like to fuck (insert celebrity here's) brains out is fairly harmless - saying the same thing about a coworker or someone you encounter on a regular basis is not.

That said, we are both realistic enough to admit we both find people other than each other attractive, and honest enough to admit it. However, since we are monogamous (nothing else would likely work with our relationship) a bit of tact, self-control and discretion goes a long way when "real" people are involved.

That's just my two-pence as a married man.

See, in the past I've found myself bewildered.

"Ashlee Simpson? No, really. You have a huge spank bank of Ashlee Simpson?"

I'm not going to say "your crush sucks" or anything, but there's a little part of my brain that raises up an eyebrow over it.

Much love,
Rowan

Weirdly I think DragonCon is one of those places where those things can collide. You'd be surprised at the number of B and C-list celebs that are, for lack of a better term, Con Whores.

Actually my hubby and I joked about it - remember the whole "laminated list" episode of Seinfeld? Well, Nathan and Alan Tudyk are definitely on mine and I've met them both at DragonCon! What were the odds I'd actually be in the same place as people on my laminated list?! (Thankfully, as far as I've heard, neither of them are the hook-up-with-a-fan-at-a-Con types.)

I do agree with you though - that you have the right to lust over whom you choose, it's your actions that matter.

This reminds me a little bit of last week's episode of "Californication", guest starring Rick Springfield, who was playing... a hedonistic version of Rick Springfield. :P

I really don't know how I would react if it's someone I don't like or respect. I guess it depends on the person.

My reactions have ranged from surprise to understanding. Even if they had the chance and made it happen, as long as rules of safer sex were followed, I wouldn't worry about it.

Since I am a poly guy, it doesn't faze me much. I am oddly entertained when I talk to female friends or paramours who are bisexual, and find out that there are celebrities or even women we know that we'd both like to pounce.

Naamah can fuck whoever she wants to fuck. She's a big girl, and I am not her Dad, or her chaperone.
