Today marks the official release of [livejournal.com profile] seanan_mcguire's book, Rosemary And Rue, the first in a series of books about October Daye, a changeling caught between the mortal and Faerie worlds, in a modern setting. Toby, from what I understand, is not your typical Tinkerbell, and I can't wait to delve into her story.

I'm looking forward to reading and reviewing my copy, as soon as I finish Shiver and review it. What a wonderful problem to have...too many books to read by my friends!

Be sure to give the book a look, and if possible, pick it up from your local bookstore.

Hello, September! You couldn't come soon enough!

A couple of people made some very generous donations to fund my trip to KC and help cover the additional car repair, and I appreciate it more than I can say. Again, as always, know that it will be paid forward. Unless, of course, you'd prefer it paid back, in which case I'll do so as soon as possible.

Fought off one heck of a migraine earlier today. Nothing is worse than having to drive with a migraine on a sunny day. When Smog got home, he settled in with his make-up work from yesterday and I went to lay down for a while in a dark, cool room with my good friend, Tylenol. Thankfully, it worked, and I was able to continue my plans for the evening.

Went to my first meeting of the Cushing Celtic Club. Did I learn groundbreaking things? No, but I did have a good time, and in passing the librarian mentioned that they are short handed because they have had two employees quit. I asked if they were hiring, and she said they were. I asked if a degree was a requirement, and she said it wasn't. She ran upstairs and printed an application for me. I'll fill that out this evening and drop it off in the morning before heading up to [livejournal.com profile] rowangolightly's house. Even part time, that would be an awesome job to have and would pay better than subbing. If it is meant to be, it will be.

Now I have a bowl of Asian noodles and America's Got Talent, and life is pretty good.

Elijah Wood is on The Tonight Show with Conan O' Brien, and all I can think of is:

"The dolphin is dead. Died in a car accident."

Damn you wenches!! I love you!

Curious? )
